Warwick Leasing
Did You Know?Warwick is a town next to the River Avon, and is close to Coventry, Leamington Spa and Stratford Upon Avon. It’s best known for the medieval Warwick Castle, founded by William the Conqueror in 1068. The Collegiate Church of St. Mary has a tower with city views and a Norman crypt. The timber-framed buildings of 14th-century Lord Leicester Hospital cluster by the city’s West Gate. The more traditional-looking Warwick castle that developed into what we know as today was built by William the Conqueror in 1068, two years after the Norman conquest of England, to keep control of the Midlands area as he advanced north. The records of a walled-building in Warwick can be traced back to the Saxon fortification which Ethelfleda, daughter of Alfred the Great, used to defend against the invading Danes. The first castle to appear on the site was a wooden motte and bailey constructed in 1068 at the command of William the Conqueror. As well as the Castle, Warwick has a beautiful park where you can hire boats and in the summer they have a fair ground for children under 10 Years old. Have a walk down Park Street and see all the diverse restaurants and coffee shops. Things To Do In Warwick 1. Warwick Castle 2. Lord Leycester Hospital 3. Hill Close Gardens 4. Warwick Racecourse 5.
