Hertfordshire Leasing Did You Know?Hertfordshire is known for having a rich history! It was even mentioned in the Domesday Book, a survey of England completed in 1086 – meaning it’s been a part of England for a long time. In 50 AD, St Albans in Hertfordshire was invaded by the Romans and was transformed into the grand settlement called Verulamium. It was subsequently torched to the ground by Boudica a decade later (thanks, Boudica) yet the beautiful city still has remnants of its bygone Roman era. And of course, Hertfordshire proximity to London means it’s a hotspot for film location scouts. During the famous 2012 Olympics, canoe slalom events took place not in London but in the purpose-built Lee Valley White Water Centre in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire. At eight years old, Stephen moved to Hertfordshire from London in 1950 after his father became Head of Parasitology at the National Institute for Medical Research. If you’d like to visit, it’s only 25.2 trillion miles away.
